The PH850-SS from Apera Instruments is a compact and easy-to-use pH meter designed for the precise determination of pH, ORP (electrode sold separately, e.g., 301Pt-C), and temperature. Specifically suited for direct pH measurement of food samples like meat, cheese, dairy products, fruit, and other semi-solids (e.g., soil), the PH850-SS ensures quick and accurate results without causing damage to the sample.

Equipped with the LabSen® 753 pH electrode, the meter features a pointed and stable glass membrane with a solid polymer electrolyte, making it perfect for penetrating food and semi-solids without clogging. The electrode is encased in a food-grade titanium alloy, offering added stability, durability, and ease of cleaning. With its integrated temperature sensor, the PH850-SS supports automatic temperature compensation (ATC) for reliable readings.

The device is housed in a silicone cover and is waterproof and dustproof (IP57), making it highly durable for field use in harsh conditions. The large illuminated LCD displays pH values and temperature simultaneously, while also providing additional calibration and measurement information. The meter supports 1- to 3-point calibration, and the self-diagnosis feature assists with troubleshooting and calibration.

The LabSen® 753 from Apera Instruments is a pH insertion electrode with integrated temperature sensor and is manufactured using proprietary Swiss sensor technology and materials. It can easily penetrate solid or semi-solid samples thanks to its tip and is particularly suitable for pH measurement of foods such as cheese, flour products, meat, fruits, etc.

LabSen S-Type Pointed Glass Diaphragm – Thanks to the low-resistance and rugged pointed glass diaphragm, the electrode delivers fully stabilized readings in 15 to 30 seconds, yet is up to 10 times more robust than conventional products, significantly reducing the likelihood of the electrode breaking during impact or when penetrating samples.

Polymer electrolyte with hole diaphragm structure – Allows direct contact with test samples without clogging the diaphragm structure. The electrolyte does not need to be refilled.

Long-life reference system – The LabSen 753 pH electrode uses a long-life reference system consisting of a glass tube, AgCl and a reference silver wire. The top of the slim glass tube is filled with cotton, which prevents the reaction between AgCl and electrolyte when the temperature changes. It improves the stability of the reference electrode and extends the life of the electrode.
