The use of Reagecon's Ammonia 10M Ionic Strength Adjuster (ISA) is necessary as an additive when using an Ion Selective Electrode (ISE) for the measurement of Ammonia. The ISA is added to both the Ion Selective Electrode Calibration Solution (ISE) and the sample; so as to keep the ionic strength of both standard and test high; eliminate matrix effects and suppress or eliminate interfering ions.
