The Apera Instruments PH8500-FT is a precision pH meter specifically designed for surface pH measurements on smooth and semi-solid materials. It comes equipped with the LabSen® 373 flat pH electrode, making it ideal for testing surfaces like skin, paper, leather, textiles, and more. The electrode features a flat glass membrane and is protected by a durable polyoxymethylene (POM) sheath that shields against corrosion and mechanical damage. The built-in temperature sensor enables automatic temperature compensation (ATC), ensuring consistent and accurate results across a range of conditions.

The PH8500-FT is waterproof and dustproof (IP57) and features a silicone protective cover for rugged use in the field. With GLP-compliant memory, USB data output, and a large illuminated LCD, it’s built for both performance and portability.
