Reagecon Total Acid Number (TAN) Standard 4.5 mg/g Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) in Synthetic Base Oil Matrix is tested by our ISO 17025 Accredited Test Method (A2LA Ref: 6739.03). This high quality standard can be used to calibrate; control or validate the methodology or equipment used to perform TAN testing according to ASTM Method D664. Produced in accordance with ASTM D664. The TAN test method D664 is used to indicate relative changes that occur in oil during use under oxidising conditions regardless of the colour or other properties of the oil. The test method D664 is also used as a guide in quality control of lubricating oil formulations or as a measure of lubricant degradation. Standards are traceable to NIST. The method has a very low uncertainty of measurement which is linked to the TAN value and is expressed as a percentage of that value. Stability is proven (either opened or unopened) for the shelf life of this product. This Standard forms part of the linearity set of TAN Standards that range in value from 0.5 mg/g KOH in a synthetic base oil up to 4.5 mg/g KOH.
