Reagecon Total Base Number (TBN) Standard 0.5 mg/g Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) is a high quality standard that can be used to calibrate; control or validate the methodology or equipment used to perform TBN testing according to ASTM Method D2896. Produced in accordance with ASTM D2896. Test method D2896 is used for both new and used petroleum products that may contain basic constituents that may be present as additives. The test method D2896 may also be used as a measure of lubricant degradation; but any condemning limits based on the test must be established on an individual basis. Standards are traceable to NIST.
