Reagecon Total Base Number (TBN) Titration Solvent 1:1:1 Propan-2-ol, Chloroform and Toluene for ASTM D4739

Reagecon’s Total Base Number (TBN) Titration Solvent 1:1:1 Propan-2-ol, Chloroform and Toluene for ASTM D4739 is used by dissolving the sample in this solution and titrating potentiometrically with a solution of perchloric acid in glacial acetic acid. The test method is used for both new and used petroleum products that may contain basic constituents that may be present as additives. The test may also be used as a measure of lubricant degradation, but any condemning limits based on the test must be established on an individual basis.
